The chapel has a beautiful airy really feel with elegant wood accents and a beautiful floor-to-ceiling window behind the altar. It is nice to see maintenance work being done to the trail to enhance the floor in elements (especially the bridge) – but I’m glad it remains gravel and hasn’t been sealed. The hardest half is the climb again up Mt Evelyn, but the downhill into Lilydale makes it worthwhile. We got here down from NSW to discover a variety of the new extensions to current rail trails in Victoria. This trail between Lilydale and Yarra Glen was third on our record.
